Lose Weight Or Gain Weight But Do It Right...





Hi my name is Dennis. I set this blog up to share the interesting things that I find online from time to time. Some of these things may be just something to read or to look at. Some of these are for selling as well. But lately I've been thinking about how many of us are not healthy. And yeah I'm one of them. You see I spent a lot of time driving professionally. In that time I went from over weight (fat) to obese. I need to lose 105 pounds. I really don't know why they call over weight people healthy. They are not healthy, I won't go into all the medical reasons why or any of that. Healthy people don't look like me.
So I made up my mind to not be fat. It's taking some time and it'll take a lot more but I didn't get this way over night. It didn't happen overnight and it'll take even more time to undo all the unhealthy things that I've done to myself. I had to learn about eating better foods. Healthy foods will help you and me to get back to being healthy. Just what is healthy and how do we incorporate this into our lives?? Websters says; healthy implies full strength and vigor as well as freedom from signs of disease. I'm over weight and I show signs of disease. High blood pressure shortness of breath hurting knees and ankles. I know I hear mine shout “sit down your killing us”.
So good health is the goal. Okay cool so how do we get there?? It's not going to be easy. I have looked all over the internet to find some way to get busy eating right and doing exercise. These days it's not easy doing any of this. We are all so busy living life and taking care of family we neglect ourselves. But check this out, IF WE DON'T MAKE TIME TO TAKE CARE OF OURSELVES WE MAY NOT BE AROUND TO TAKE CARE OF THEM. That is the hard cold reallity of life. Can you picture your family without you?? How sad would that be, really??
Okay so we know we got a problem and we know we NEED to make time for ourselves to fix this problem. We need to eat right and get proper rest. Allot of us do not get the rest we need, why?? I know why I don't and you know why you don't. So it's time to make a deal with ourselves. A deal we can live with and live by. 24 hour's in the day yes?? Okay then starting with rest, how much do you get and are you getting to a deep sleep?? We have all heard what the benefits are for getting that deep, gonna dream sleep. Starting with sleep take a look at what time you go to bed. Then look at what time you get up to start your day. How many hours?? Now then some of you are moms and some are dads some are alone some have kids and some have pets. Your taking care of a lot of different things throughout the day. You have work or run a business, yes we are all busy in some way. What are you eatting for breakfast?? Is it going to keep you til lunch and is it healthy?? and what about lunch, what is it and how healthy is it for you, will it give you energy for the rest of the day or only for 2 to 3 hours?? Now it's time to get home and get dinner on the table. After a long day you just want to rush dinner so you can relax right?? Now you've eaten and showered and your relaxing. You don't feel like doing anything now but maybe some TV or some game on the computer maybe read a good book. Before you know it it's almost midnight and you need to try to get to sleep.
You look back on the day and you've done a lot but you haven't done for yourself. Pretty bad huh?? So it's time to change all that and start on a schedual that will help you lose weight get exercise get rest and feel great and feel good about yourself. Is there anything or any program that can help us. I don't want to be going to the gym and I don't need another exercise contraption that I'll get traped in. And if your like me I can olny spend so much on this.

Tip #1: Control Your Liquid Calories
When we think about cutting the fat on our bellies, the first thing that comes to our mind is cutting down on solid food. But one thing that most guys don’t take into account is the amount of LIQUID calories they consume.
These liquid calories are typically totally empty of nutrition, and they can really add up fast. If you’ve been trying to lose weight but haven’t been successful, liquid calories could be the reason why.
Think about it: a soda of the size typically served at restaurants has about 480 calories, all pure sugar.
And the average twelve ounce bottle of beer has about 160 calories. How easy is it to drink 5 or 6 beers without even thinking about it...that’s a huge amount of empty calories which go straight to your gut.
Before you even start worrying about changing what you’re eating, start paying attention to what you’re DRINKING. This means:
- Drinking tea, water, or even diet soda in place of regular soda
- Replacing beer or sugary alcoholic drinks with healthier alternatives, such as a vodka tonic
- Avoiding excess consumption of sugary juices, even though they’re marketed as “healthy”
Tip #2: Boost Your Metabolism BEFORE Trying To Lose Weight
Another thing that will make weight loss MUCH easier for you is boosting your metabolism BEFORE you try and lose weight.
If your metabolism is low, weight loss is going to be incredibly difficult. You’ll have to eat incredibly tiny portions of food every day, and even if you’re exercising all the time you will still have difficulty losing weight.
Your metabolism is the most important factor in your weight loss, bar none. An extremely hard cardio workout might burn 300 calories at the most...but your metabolism will burn between 1500-3000 calories, EVERY SINGLE DAY, WHETHER YOU WORK OUT ON THAT DAY OR NOT.
It’s BY FAR the most important factor – you will easily burn 20x more calories through your metabolism than through exercise directly.
So...you’re probably wondering, HOW do I boost my metabolism?

The best way to boost your metabolism is to gain lean body mass (muscle). This muscle will require energy every day to maintain itself, whether you work out on that day or not. This is what will jack your metabolism up, and make fat loss possible.
Back when I used to weight about 160 flabby pounds, I would eat about 1500 calories a day. It sucked – I felt like I was always starving, and I STILL didn’t lose any fat.
Now that I weigh 205 lbs. and I have much more muscle mass, I purposely eat over 3000 calories per day, EVERY DAY. I never gain any weight, because of my increased metabolism.
So if you want to lose weight, first focus on increasing your metabolism through building muscle.
Tip #3: Follow A Nutrition PLAN
Another huge mistake a lot of guys make is that they have no unified plan for their eating. They just try and follow whatever random tips they read off the internet whenever they remember them, and just hope things work out.
The reality is, things never work out when you do them this way. If you don’t have a plan, then you’ll end up eating the wrong foods and you will just gain more fat on your stomach.
The plan that I recommend you follow if you want to get a six pack is Mike Geary’s Truth About Abs program. This is the program that got me my six pack, and I recommend you pick it up as well.
The nutritional plan that Mike lays out is simply the best. It’s realistic and easy to follow – you’ll never feel like you’re starving yourself. But it also produces results, and it produces them FAST.
